A day in the life of two kids in Santa Paula, CA in 2045
Roadmap to the Future
Much of the technology needed to make this future a reality is already in development if not already deployed, such as autonomous vehicles, smart streets, and real-time transportation demand management. Equally important to the technology are the economic models necessary to build these systems. For example, public-private partnerships are needed to create sustainable businesses for taxpayers and shareholders, as opposed to today’s siloed and competing models that impede progress. Lastly, policy adjustments will be necessary to incentivize today’s corporations to initiate new business opportunities, capturing value as they support this transition to better mobility systems.
Soon, with inputs from and partnerships with major universities, policy experts, manufacturers, developers, urban and city planners, community leaders, finance advisors and many other disciplines required to create a plan of action to our roadmaps, we will begin charting the way forward to make this Santa Paula of 2045 a real possibility.
